Keysborough GC Local Rules.<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n

To be read in conjunction with the Rules of Golf<\/strong><\/a> and any Temporary Local Rules<\/strong><\/a>.
\r\nEffective: March 2024. (Note<\/u>: *<\/strong>MLR = Model Local Rule per Rules of Golf.)<\/p>\r\n

OUT OF BOUNDS.<\/strong> (Stroke-&-distance penalty; if unsure, announce & play a Provisional ball<\/em>)<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

Beyond the inside line of any fence or line of black-topped white stakes and\/or white lines defining the boundary of the course. Car parks & roundabout. Practice fairway right of 1st\u00a0hole. Practice area left of 10th\u00a0tee. Clubhouse. Residence right of 1st\u00a0hole.<\/p>\r\n

INTEGRAL OBJECTS & ABNORMAL COURSE CONDITIONS (ACC) <\/strong>(<\/strong>*<\/strong>MLR F\u20111)<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

A. Integral Objects.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

Sandy Paths & Tracks<\/strong> with no introduced topping material such as stone, gravel, asphalt, etc. No free relief.<\/p>\r\n

B. Immovable Obstructions.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

Penalty Area Stakes <\/strong><\/em>(Red), GUR Stakes<\/strong> (White), Drop Zone Stakes<\/strong> (Blue).
\r\nStaked\/Guarded Trees\/Shrubs\/Plants & their stakes & guards.
\r\nFixed Sprinkler Heads \/ Taps \/ Drainage grates.
\r\nPaths & Roads \u2013 only those with introduced topping such as stone, gravel, asphalt.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\r\n

Take free relief under Rule 16.1 for Immovable Obstructions (drop within one\u00a0club-length of the nearest point of relief, no nearer the hole<\/em>) or play it as it lies.
\r\n(NO free relief if a ball lies inside a Penalty Area, or for boundary markers\/fences).<\/p>\r\n

If a ball lies in the general area and an immovable obstruction is on the line of play AND is within two club-lengths of the putting green AND is within two club-lengths of the ball, the player may obtain relief without penalty under Rule\u00a016.1b. (*MLR\u00a0F\u20115.1)<\/p>\r\n

Overhead Wires.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\r\n

A ball striking overhead wires at the 17th hole MUST be replayed, without penalty, as per Rule 14.6 (*MLR E\u201111).<\/p>\r\n

C. Ground Under Repair (GUR)<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

A player MAY take Rule\u00a016.1 Relief without penalty for items (i)\u00a0\u2013\u00a0(v):<\/p>\r\n

i. Areas defined by white stakes, white lines, or GUR signs and ropes.<\/p>\r\n

ii. Walkway matting and exposed matting in bunkers.<\/p>\r\n

iii. Washaways in bunkers and at the margins of bunkers.<\/p>\r\n

iv. Clearly defined deep wheel ruts (except in a penalty area).<\/p>\r\n

v. If a player\u2019s ball lies in or touches a seam of cut turf or a seam interferes with the player\u2019s area of intended swing (but no relief if the seam only interferes with the player\u2019s stance). (*MLR F\u20117)<\/p>\r\n

A player MUST take Rule\u00a016.1 Relief without penalty for item (vi):<\/p>\r\n

vi. Bunkers when being worked on by course maintenance staff. The entire bunker is GUR while work is in progress.<\/p>\r\n

MOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS. <\/strong><\/p>\r\n

On-course signs. Barriers, ropes, stakes and hoops guarding wet or worn areas. Take relief under Rule 15.2a. Objects moved should be replaced.<\/p>\r\n

PENALTY AREAS \u2013 Dropping Stakes<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

Dropping Stakes on holes 3, 7 & 12 are a relief option (additional to Rule 17.1) for a ball found in or known or virtually certain to have come to rest in the penalty area. For one penalty stroke, drop a ball within one club-length of the dropping stake, and the ball must remain within the one club-length relief area (*MLR E1.1).<\/p>\r\n

PENALTY FOR BREACH OF A LOCAL RULE<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

Stroke Play: 2 Strokes<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Match Play: Loss of hole<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n

DISTANCE MARKERS:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

To the CENTRE of the green. Blue 100m; Yellow\u00a0150m; Red\u00a0200m; White\u00a0250m.<\/p>\r\n
