KGC RELOCATION INFORMATION SESSION

On Wednesday, June 5, more than 130 people attended the Keysborough Golf Club (KGC) for an information session about our Club’s potential relocation to Bangholme.

We hosted a panel that included myself (KGC Club President Darryl Swindells), KGC General Manager Darren Eckhardt, Intrapac Property CEO Max Shifman and Intrapac Senior Consultant Hamish Macdonald.

The panel engaged in an informative one-hour discussion on the proposed relocation to Pillars Road, before taking more than 20 members’ questions on the issue.

For those that could not attend the session, a video link to the complete discussion is available below to watch at your convenience.

We thank those who made the effort to attend on the night, and urge those who could not come along to watch over the footage to provide you with more background on what will be a game-changing move for both you and for our Club.

WHAT IS THIS MOVE ABOUT?

Relocation to Pillars Road, Bangholme, will set the Keysborough Golf Club up for a prosperous and profitable future.

The move will deliver a new, modern day, 18-hole, 6600m long course configured in six-hole loops to facilitate short course competition. Associated developments include best-in-class club rooms with equitable and inclusive facilities for women and juniors and improved function spaces for internal use and external hire. A state-of-the-art driving range on site will also bolster the Club’s commercial footing.

This future-proofing move requires an amending of the Urban Growth Boundary (UGB) to incorporate the current golf club land on Hutton Road / Springvale Road. The amendment will enable the current site to be rezoned – paving the way for more than 1000 homes to be built – and for our relocation to proceed.

The proposed new KGC site in Bangholme does not require rezoning, but the current location of the UGB prohibits the repurposing of our current location, meaning this move cannot go ahead without a change to the boundary.

The State Government is under increasing pressure to enable developments such as these to occur to help alleviate its current housing crisis.

Your support matters if we are to make this relocation a reality. So, to have your say count, please take 30 seconds to send an automated email to the relevant Government ministers by clicking below expressing your support of the relocation and wider project.
